Opening Activities / Setting the Stage 

Decorating the classroom like a shopping place in China.
Watch part of the video in target language from a real Chinese shopping place. Then let students discuss what they saw from the video. (Interpretive Communication) (Video 1)

1. Teach the new vocabularies of clothing items with authentic pictures or items. (Culture- Product)
2. Introduce the common expression" how much?" Introduce the common expression for barging price "too expensive"(Culture-Practice)

Main Activities - Guided Practice 

Activity 3
1.The instructor uses flash cards then ask students to guess what is the card. Pair up students to practice the vocabularies with flash cards. (Interpretive Communication)
Activity 4
The instructor will invite two students come to the front and use fly swatter to swat the words.(Interpretive Communication)
Activity 5
Ask students to practice phrases and sentence structure using flash cards: "多少钱", "太贵了" "便宜点"(Interpretive Communication)
Activity 6
The teacher will teach students a chants about shopping and they will practice it.

Main Activities - Independent Practice 

1. Students pair up and use assigned words/ clothes items to make a dialogue between a sales assistant and a customer. Then they will role-play the dialogue.(Interpersonal Communication)
2. Students will practice the chants by listening to the recorded audio.
