Performance Assessment (Final Project/Assessment)
Performance Task 1 - Interpretive 

Review and activate previous knowledge: Teacher will first ask students: "What was the man eating monster" nian" afraid of?" "Which Chinese New Year practice was evolved from burning the old man's bamboo canes?" and the google doc questions regarding Chinese New Year, then have students find the answers by watching the video and answer true of false comprehension questions on Google Doc. which students can self assess their understanding and teacher can get result right away and give timely and focused feed back. Also give students a purpose to watch the video.
2nd interpretive activity:
Students will watch, listen,read along and number the images and vocabularies following the VT. To check students's performance, class will be on google hangout: teacher will have a volunteer to his/her list first, then one or two other students reach their list. Teacher will read the right order of the list. students can do self check and pear check.
3rd interpretive activity:
The class will go to quizlet.com to go over the flash cards of the whole vocab, teacher will do the "speller" activity with students,then students will do the test. Have students send you their results so teacher can give timely feedback and decide if students need to do other interactive practices on quizelet.

Performance Task 2 - Presentational 

To make personal connections with Chines New Year traditions, students will be asked to post what they like to do ( at least 4 things) to celebrate Chinese New Year on Padlet, which is their favorite and then the whole class will go on google hangout to orall present and share their padlet postings.
To reflect on the tradition, students are asked to answer what is the most Chinese holiday? What do children like to do most on that holiday?

Performance Task 3 - Interpersonal 

Students are paired up with their different the information sheet A or B. Please see the attached and the information sheet will be cut along the
dotted line to make sure each student only gets one of the both.
Teacher will do a demo with a volunteer first and this activity will also be done on google hangout.
